    The Last Supper | 2016 - 2018

„Consuming is the defining feature of a society.“ „The things we consume remind us who we are.“ This work started with food, which I consumed and painted right after. Based on that I started asking myself questions: How much do we think about what we consume? Are we grateful for food or do we have and exessive amount? How many of us think about how much they buy and how much they can use? I decided to depict this problem in reference to the famous Last Supper. The character of Judas is symbolized by rotten food, which also symbolizes a consumer who wastes too much and sits at his own table on the side. The other extreme is Jesus, which symbolizes a humble eater, who is content with only the vital things, bread. Wine remains as the attribute of faith. In the middle, between Jesus and Judas, there is the food of the apostles symbolizing the general society, which merrily consumes everything available.
