This installation represents the memory of childhood and was created in the theme of the “Friendshipmap” exhibition. Most children build hideouts from various objects which is their special place where fantasy and imagination can take shape. I called forward the experience of creating such a personal space. The framework was created by pieces of fabric knotted together, afterwards I placed an “altar” therein, made out of marble fragments and a porcelain teapot that I broke during my childhood. It is as if the marble fragments have been torn out from the soft fabric and had been hardened by the passage of time. Symbols can be found on these pieces that bring personal memories to the surface such as passing fads or even things that are still important for me to this day. Outside – inside, to hide – to come out, hard – soft, past – future; I’m expressing these polar opposites with this work.
