    Taxonomy of Liquid Personas | 2017 - 2018

What lays beneath the surface? I’ve always felt strong motivation to peel back layers, to discover another person whom I’m interested in, or to continue discovering more about myself. To go deeper into reading recurring patterns, body gestures and imitations in order to further understand and decode aspects of the human condition. This act brings an element of surprise into play. There is a constant dialog with myself or with a significant other. I use this as a kind of reflective practice. I don’t want to judge. These diary-like images are operating as a carrier recording happenings and mental states. My intention is to translate these subjective experiences to a more universal language by using the collective need to find recurring patterns in the abstract. I’d like to create a platform to project emotions onto, or one that impersonates the characteristics and situations of individuals. To control, to unintentionally be controlled, and to intentionally surrender control. Similar to the nature of liquid mediums, this organic process is aiming to break down the concrete elements. I created more than a hundred figures showing patterns of amorous behavior. Although sculptures, instead of stillness the figures convey a state of constant restlessness, a sense of continuous motion. These “ornaments” have the ability to carry an emotional charge and a sort of secrecy.
