Purely black. Black for most people is the darkness that absorbs everything. Perhaps the most mysterious among the monochromes... Nevertheless these are the first ones to glitter in the light to show the story on the monochrome painting by applying textured finishing. These paintings attempt to capture the moment when the lights go out - and all that is left is monochrome. It is this absence of color that brings the richness of the surfaces alive and adds layers of texture to the image - contrasting harsher forms against paler shades.
