Preceeding generations, until the recent past had spent their lives century after century mostly at one specific geographical location; many of them did not even left their dwelling (birth) place. Whether on livelyhood matters or in longing for exploring unknown spheres outside their world, they did not leave on travelling, so that the source of most of their knowledge and experience was their direct environment. This knowledge was gathered and maintained under the circumstance, that they did not get in contact with other cultures or communities outside their own, or only with very few.
