◼︎ Collegium Pazmanianum - Piliscsaba, 2015 giclée print on dibond, 50x70 cm ◼︎ The architectural ensemble of the Pazmány Péter Catholic University is situated on the edge of the sacred Pilis Mountains (Piliscsaba) and was designed by Imre Makovecz and his students in 1994-5. ◼︎ Shooting range - Piliscsaba, 2015 giclée print on disband, 50x70 cm ◼︎ At about 1 km from the Pazmaneum, a former shooting range is situated. In 2003 the scenery for the movie Faithlessness (Lajos Koltay, Imre Kertész, 2005) was being planned to be built there. This would have modelled the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. The plan generated vehement protests on the political far right, among others from the well-known musician-composer Levente Szörényi (see: Intro), arguing, that the presence of a concentration camp scenery “would disturb the sacred landscape’s tranquility”. Finally the scenery was built up and the site was used for the movie production. ◼︎ Yurt hotel – Pilis Montain, 2015 giclée print on disband, 50x70 cm ◼︎ The yurt is considered to be the traditional dwelling of the ancient Hungarians. These tents, used as hotel rooms are situated in Dobogókő (Podium or Palpitating Rock), a locality in the Pilis Mountains, which is believed to hold among other sacred powers the Heart Chakra of the Earth. Its popularity as a spiritual tourism destination started following the Treaty of Trianon (1920), as some of the territories lost as a consequence of the treaty could be seen from the highest point of the mountain. In 1935 a hard road was built which was commented by the newsreel of time: „(…) we have built this road to allow people of getting on this gigantic podium, wherefrom they can shout in the world our justice! Let be this the road of hope from which hundreds of thousands can see the promised land!” ◼︎
