    Pilgrimage, a site-specific installation/ Morocco | 2002

A hot-air balloon was launched in the Sahara Desert on the border of Morocco and Mauritania, and left to go on its own pilgrimage. The project was intended to reflect our life journeys as human beings, our pilgrimages. During our lives, it happens that we walk alone, or meet someone and share life together, or separate, or die. Each of us is on a journey. The intention was to release 1,000 balloons from many different places in the desert, and let them migrate across the central desert, to follow their own destinies.
