Do It YourSelf

  • Each visitor had to take a picture of him self with a Polaroid and hang it randomly on one of the walls of the inner space of the gallery, creating in this way a visual memory of the project and “its” visitors over the 4 days its existence.

  • For this occasion we have set the space to be used as a self-service restaurant for which we have prepared 70 works (vacuum packed goulash soup) to be unpacked, warmed up and consumed by the visitors/ customers for a polaroid self-portrait in exchange.

    Kitchen Dialogues | 2011 - 2016

Through the ongoing series of Kitchen Dialogue we are working with social interventions — that are at the same time a critical practice — operating via social research, site-specific installations and a series of social events and dialogues triggered by conviviality. We investigate our rooted social acts and habits, and question if we could act otherwise in social ways. Kitchen Dialogues has functioned as a nomadic platform for several years, with a series of gastronomic events as the common thread of the project. These events, that try to bring attention on the negative consequences of surplus food, have adopted different formats, from the creation of a temporary pop-up restaurant inside an apartment to occasional events, like a mobile kitchen or a pop-up B&B. Our goal is to create a platform where each participant can experience and live inside this social ecosystem we have created outside the consumeristic world, offering them services for free. A new economy is proposed and make tangible where the negotiation and social rituals revolving around food are given a face that speaks the language of gift, respect and responsibility.
