The animation LOST IN THE WOODS LOW RES is a collection of animated colourful collages accopanied with a fairy-tale like music. It is a glance through the constructed landscapes of internet and consumerstic elements. The nature is represented with artificial symbols and stands for the blurred lines between reality and virtual reality in today's society. The sun rises as as wifi symbol, the waves of the sea are represented by a toothpaste logos, twitter icon stands for the birds and so on Being so dependend on the technology changes the way we live, feel and function and so has our percieving of nature. _____________________________________________________________________________ In the project Lost in the woods I place myself as a gnome or magical beeing in constructed landscapes with kitschy elements of fairytales, consumerism and social networks. The work deals with the topic of escapism and the relationship between real and constructed world. In today’s society one can not avoid being part of consumerist culture and social networks. With their persuation one can easily be lost in this world or “wood” of artificial, digital and pop elements. The project is adopting fairytale iconography and transforms it. The project is finalized in medium of digital print, artist book, video (animation) and performance.
