ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in the cross-section and differences between real and unreal, constructed worlds. Reality is often full of responsibilities, stress, pressure and problems, which are hard to handle, therefore people try to find possibilities to escape from them. In such situations drugs and addictions come in handy, and make us forget problems and reality in exchange for a short period of a happier world. World of shiny consumer products and advertisements convince us that we will be more beautiful and happy if we will buy them and be using them to correct what lack us in reality. Another example to which I strongly relate the world of internet reality and social networks, where one can build a whole identity and virtual life,  I am trying to question, what makes us want to escape, and how do we feel in this constructed worlds? Do we really feel happier and how long does it last? What is happiness, where and how can be found?
