    The Hope | התקוה | 2015

A site-specific multi channel video installation // 2015. BAGGAGE // Group Exhibition // Neurotitan Gallery // Berlin. A window and a bird cage are hanged from the ceiling, a video is projected on the objects. The video consists of several different segments: big scale crow, a small naked person that singing the Israeli National Anthem 'Hatikvah' (The Hope), rain and a hand. Engaging with questions of home and what are we carrying with us when we are far from it. I found the Noah Ark story from Genesis very inspiring as a starting point. There are different ways to tell this story, in one version Noah sent a crow out of the arc to find a dry land, but the crow never comes back, only then he sends the dove. The dove did come back with an olive branch, that was a sign for a dry land. Why did the crow do not come back? Did he die? Maybe he found a land, a new home and just did not want to look back. The two birds have the opposite characteristics: Loyalty vs selfishness, innocence vs sophistry, one can be trained the other will forever be wild.
