"Despite its title (Profane Quaternity), the sculpture by Péter Madaras is a condensed material manifestation of the sanctity of the family and the family bond, the unbrekable quaternity unity in his particular case. Like tiny gifts of love that hold everything together, like protective armour plates of steadfast devotion, of a lifetime of tiny repetitive gestures of parental care, the small pointed pine cone scales enclose and encase the core of four heart-shapes, hidden within, fused into one another."
