    Twilight zone | 2022 - 2023

The fragmentation that appears in my paintings refers to image debris produced by computer software, to transience: when the details of an image are cut off by the software and that detail becomes redundant or has a new story separated from its previous context. They express a kind of peculiar loneliness and it refers to some strange entity in the in the cyber space or in a parallel world, in a utopia. And for me, these cut-off parts has a soul, but it is not a real living being. And to me, they are a bit like mementos or memorials. A reminder of human existence. A reminder of the soul. These fragments in my painting often display human senses. We are connected to the outside world through these organs. Without them, we humans would be locked in ourselves. These fragments are locked into a mysterious system and from there they try to communicate with the viewer. This system in which these image parts "exist" is a parallel world, a utopia, the dimension of imagination, the twilight zone.
