ARTIST STATEMENT

I use objects as if they were communication tools. Every object has a meaning that belongs to the collective consciousness as well as countless others meaning-related contents. My aim is to explore the process that leads to the object-definition and how this affect our consciousness of its meaning.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Brescia (Italy) in 1984. He received his BFA in 2008 in Fine Art from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan), and his master’s degree in Visual Art from IUAV University (Venice) in 2012. Samuele Cherubini’s practise is mainly focused on objects and their evocativ power.

His works reflect his education on digital media, he remodels reality as if he were inside a 3D modeling software: turning, adding, splitting, bending things and delivering new forms. His installations are based on an endless variations of ready made with a constant shifting of the definition. The object become a tool used to examine the relationship between collective unconscious and personal experiences and how this affect our perception of the meaning.
