ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is about observing and questioning the world around me with intensity while leaving it unresolved and without conclusion.

Geometric shape or shapes, dots, patterns are often the starting points in my paintings. Then I leave things open, - letting the painting build itself. The strange and the familiar collide and they are looking for meaning. The whole process is about incompleteness, freedom and limitation.

After graduating with a BA (Hons.) in Visual Arts Practice at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland in 2008, I gained my Masters in Fine Art degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design (University of the Arts) in London in 2011.

I am a recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Arts and Humantities Research Council of England Fellowship (2011) and the Travel and Training Bursary by the Arts Council of Ireland (2010) participated in international artist's residencies such as the Igor Metropol AIR Budapest (2015), Kosice AIR in Leipzig, Germany (2013), Tyrone Guthrie Centre AIR in Monaghan, Ireland (2009), Temple Bar Gallery and Studios AIR in Dublin, Ireland (2008).

My latest exhibitions include ‘Small Things’, EQO, Spissky Hrhov (2018), ‘Flexible Stillness’, Pragovka Artdistrict, Prague (2017), ‘The Level of Abstraction in Real Life Has Been Declining’, The Gallery of Central Slovakia, Banska Bystrica (2016), ‘Picture This’, Kasarne Kulturpark, Kosice 2015.
