ARTIST STATEMENT

Technological simplicity lays the foundation for this project. Whilst technology has the ability to control, measure and harness nature, it can alienate us from a more genuine, experiential relationship with the world.

Allowing nature to be captured with long exposures though a primitive wooden pinhole camera, I'm giving up some control of the artistic process to my environment, and seeking to engage my surroundings in the artistic practice, making photos with the world rather than of the world.
