Diploma works 2021: RE_PRESENTATION

Representation is a concept of character theory. Simply put, it is a relationship between two permissions - the one it represents, that is, the representative, and what it represents, the one represented. It is common to understand works of art as signs representing meaning subject to interpretation. If the works of art did not represent anything, it would not be possible to interpret them, it would not be about anything, it would be empty, uninteresting. The starting point for our participation in this year's exhibition of FaVU graduates is the fact that this is a well-established show of all diploma theses that were created on the premises of the faculty in a given year. We give up the ambition to evaluate or regroup individual works into new categories and to cover them thematically. The scope of individual fields represented by studio affiliation and differences of approaches with an emphasis on freedom of expression also predicts the freedom of presentation of the last study work. - Luděk Rathouský & Svätopluk Mikyta, curators of the exhibition
