2015 Curatorial Residency in Budapest

Curator Residency in Collaboration with Works.io

Works.io, in collaboration with Independent Curators International (ICI), is excited to announce a new three-week curatorial residency in Budapest between the end of April and mid-May in 2015.

The goal of the residency is to promote cultural exchange by exposing an emerging curator to artists and art professionals from Hungary, and creating professional connections internationally, in the spirit of the Works.io online platform. The selected curator will get the opportunity to experience and explore the local and regional art scene, in part through a number of organized or suggested events, such as:

  • International programs held in conjunction with the Off-Biennale Budapest.
  • Visits to art spaces and meetings with artists and art professionals in the frame of a personally tailored program, to be planned in close consultation with the selected curator

In addition, the selected curator will have the opportunity to develop a project or research proposal with feedback from a Senior Curator from the Ludwig Museum (or from a leading contemporary art institution in Budapest). The selected curator will also have the opportunity to organize a public program online or at the ICI Curatorial Hub in summer 2015, to present on his/her practice and the projects developed in Budapest.

Air travel and accommodation costs are covered by Works.io
