ARTIST STATEMENT

I am working with drawing, gouache on paper and oil on canvas. The drawings and gouaches on paper started off after I gave up painting after photographs. That method I found it very restrictive for me to work with, because it didn't allowed me to accept new ideas that came along while painting.
Making repetitive drawings and gouaches I use them as starting points for my paintings. Vegetal elements such as leaves and other plants and flowers started to emerge, firstly as a pretext for a gestual painting but later developed into a repetitive element that set up the mood in most of the paintings. Human figure appears,usually a boy,and other human ''traces'' such as eyes. 

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Sibiu, Romania and graduated her Ma at the University of Art and Design, Cluj-Napoca, at Painting Department.
Currently lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
