ARTIST STATEMENT

Martina Stock, visual artist and harpist, based in Vienna and Berlin, working all over the world. A main topic of hers is the is the construction of a connection between visual art and music, creating an interface.

Based on their lyrical drawings “VENUS' HERZBLUT- a play of lines”
"PEOPLE MOVE PEOPLE" has been the first work resulting from these considerations, where her harp playing and drawings have been connected with IT in an interactive audiovisual installation. In her large-format serigraphs Martina Stock is experimenting with the contrast between soft systems and hard clarity. Urban geometries are combined with the colored contrasts of abstract art, out off which inter alia the "Blue EROS" has emerged / resulted. This is about the mise-en-scéne of an interaction of serigraphs, harp playing and light correlating with the respective given circumstances of the performance venue.

With her intuitive and at the same time wayward proceeding she creates works beyond their reproducibility, developing an openness which enables the audience's own imagination to dock at always new and different frames of references .

2010 together with the Hang player Christian Schratt she founded CIFERENCE-SYMPHONY | Harp & Hang.
In the work of Martina Stock the artistic forms influence and and inspire themselves mutually.
