ARTIST STATEMENT

In my work I combine different mediums such as painting, objects, video and video game engines because each of these mediums allows me to express different part of my ideas.

Computer generated world (CGW) is a centerpoint of my artistic practice. I research the differences between matter, materials, time and space between virtual reality and "normal" reality.

the following theses are:

Space
Space in CGW is either defined or undefined. definete space is always present in bigger shapeless space with endless potention of grow (infinity)

Time
Time in CGW exists in circular concept. There is no natural decline nor history and because of the option of save and reload there is endless variations of options and possition. This concept is very close to quantum's physics idea of the super position of electron.

Matter and materials
Matter and materials are immaterial. everything in CGW is only empty shells defined by set of points with properties. This allows the virtual avatars to react differently to architecture and space. it also elevates the spirituality of such an enviroment because nobody can be in possition of anything.

Glitch
Glirch is a mistage that usualy appears on its own because of clash of two or more different source codes that colide with each other. it is the computer's natural way to deal with problems. At the same time glich is a potentional inteligency of a program, a ability of solving unexpected situations. it is the begining of inteligency ands shows us that even though the CGW is created by humans it has its own natural laws.

I try to elaborate on these concepts in my work. I bring them to the reality by using the clasical art mediums such as painting and sculpting. In this way I can depict the differentcies much better because the concepts are taken away from their natural enviroment.

BIOGRAPHY

I come from Prague where I spend my entire childhood. later I enrolled in to an artistic high school where I did design of furniture and interior. This had strong influence on my work because we where thought how to depict space in technical drawings and computer visualizations. Later when I started to study in the Netehrelands I combined this interest in space with my older interest in virtual reality and video games. Now I make works based on the special aspects and behaviors of space in Computer Generated World and I live and work between Prague and The Hague. In the upcoming future of 1-2 years I want to move my artistic practice to Prague.
In October 2016 I organized an art show in Prague "Exchanging Intimacies".
