ARTIST STATEMENT

In one of his studies from the 1980s, American philosopher Donald W. Crawford considers possible relationships between nature and art; using a broad historical view-point, he reaches the legitimate conclusion that in the history of Western art, two basic models prevail almost exclusively. According to the former, art production uses nature as a model by imitating it in different ways and by various different means. According to the latter, it is in fact art production (or our experience of artefacts), which shows us and teaches us to see in nature what is important and valuable from an aesthetic point of view.
