ARTIST STATEMENT

Painter and co-founder of the art group OBR. Ever since my early paintings influenced by spray-painted street-art or by the material and clear colors of children’s modelling clay, I have tried to express through my works the ability to combine geometrical sobriety with artisanal playfulness and a respect for the past with a willingness to dissect all familiar forms into their prime elements, which I then combine into a new order. Against this seemingly destructive force, I try to place the energy of creativity. The result are “beautiful” paintings with new meaning and content.

Malíř a spoluzakladatel výtvarné skupiny OBR. Od raných obrazů ovlivněných sprejerským street-artem nebo materiálem a jasnými barvami dětské modelíny se ve svých obrazech  snažím  projevit schopnost skloubit geometrickou vážnost s rukodělnou hravostí  a respekt k minulému s ochotou všechny mnou známé formy a obrazy rozstříhat a rozložit na prvočinitele a ty pak složit do nového mnou určeného řádu. Proti této zdánlivě destruktivní síle se snažím postavit energii tvořivosti. Výsledkem jsou “krásné“ obrazy s novým obsahem.
