ARTIST STATEMENT

My art is based on what I can create which I, subjectively and introspectively, find beautiful and/or fascinating. This isn't fixed, but vary. Thus, I do not limit myself to only drawings, only photography, only digital paintings etc. I do a bit of everything, as I find that all styles can create fascinating, etc. artworks.
Not having any formal training or education in art, I know little of what is "objectively" the right and beautiful way, and thus I am left completely to myself to decide what I want, and then try my way around in order to get to my goal: something I really enjoy looking at.

BIOGRAPHY

As mentioned, my farther is an artists (however loose that term may be) and my mother is an interior architect, both working in Scandinavia.
Consequently I was exposed to a great deal of art and design as a young boy, being dragged to exhibitions, openings, studios, etc. constantly.
For those reasons, I was always sourrounded by art-related materials, and sometimes even assisted both my mother and father in their work.
This, I think, had huge effects on me, for I have always been interested in art; and more importantly, I become happy when I do it.

I also took steps of my own, and now have ended up in London studying Philosophy.
While being tremendeous fun, it often gets tiresome reading and writing for hours. It is in such times that art, for me, is such a gift. Whenever I reach the point where I cannot read another sentences, I either pick up my camera, my pencil, open photoshop, or whatever I may fancy, and start letting creativity flow. It works almost like a reboot.

Although I have no formal education in art, I do spend a lot of time on it, and do want it to be part of my life. It was thus a happy message to receive, that I won an art competition in Norway, getting the "title" "Trafo of the Year" and £1500 (http://trafo.no/nyheter/2014/4/rets_trafotalent__taudalpoi-423203/ the announcement, although in Norwegian ...).
