ARTIST STATEMENT

Janka Duchoňová's artistic creation focuses on the present-day reality. Her strong theme is the globalised world in the 21th century with all strengths and weaknesses of multiculturalism. Not only is she concerned with the real situation of the society, but she is interested also in all kinds of paranoia, speculation and mythogenesis in different cultures, especially in the Western culture. Duchoňová is using a wide range of media ranging from drawings, aquarelle, collages through painting on ceramics to the installations. She utilizes the telling nature of various media and chooses them in relation to the content of her works.
