ARTIST STATEMENT

In my work I have been working for a longer time with figure, body.. trying to grasp it always in new way for me. Often it was my surroundings and the environment from which I came out. In the new paintings, it was a family story of the Second World War that became a central guide and through it I somehow got to my personal and important things while I was connected to a wider memory, complicated plot and expression. In the paintings it's not a clearly defined story, in the end there are just loose fragments taken from it. The final paintings are rather imprint of the memories. In my work I consider as an important source he photography, which I gather from books, magazines, internet, etc. The pictures of the photo in the process often are changing and disappearing. Now the I consider the collages and the paintings equal they need each other to be the work complete for me.
