• Sum up the main character of your work, your long-term interests and themes.
I work with drawing, space and the story, I am interested in everyday situations as well as important historic events. I pay attention to public places and what impact the politics and the power have on them.
• Describe the context of your work – what are your inspirational sources and theoretical starting points, which artists and tendencies do you consider as referential to your work.
I am inspired by the night city, walking, driving and going through old books. I take inspiration from these artists: Francis Alÿs, Guido van der Werve and William Kentridge
• Try to characterize what makes your work specific, wherein lies its force, what makes it different from the work of artists with similar approaches and themes.
It is very important to me that the exhibits create a „space narrative“.
• What is your work process like? Do you deal with preparation and research? How do you search for your themes? How do you choose the media you work in?
I really like to work for specific exhibition spaces – I need time to collect data,
I use quick sketch-up to arrange the exhibits in the space, and I wait with the choice of media. The main pillar of my work is drawing. I use it at the very beginning, for planning and it is also the final product of my work. I enjoy being lead by the theme which I always try to put into ideal form and ideal instalation.
• What is your vision for the future? How do you want to develop your work and continue your previous projects/realizations? What is your long-term goal/dream?
I would like to develop my work into long-term instalations, which would balance on the edge of stage design and public space. I am interested in baroque theatre especially the contrast between grand spectacle and machinery. I would also love to work with the garden space as if it were live theatre.
