ARTIST STATEMENT

Painting chose me to unveil the truth. I take on my paintings looking at my surroundings and selecting contemporary elements from them. From human being toward the tools they use. Playing with paradoxes, pushing the boundaries of meanings, creating new powerful images which I believe questions, extends the aesthetic, high-tech, informational function of each mind.  

BIOGRAPHY

I was born in ex-URSS, Moldova. Geopolitical context in which I grew-up gave me the opportunity to develop my artistic abilities without distractions, having access to two cultural influences, the latin  and slavic ones. Between the dreadful cultural and political tensions that I’ve constantly witnessed during my youth, I have built a profound understanding of cultures. I thus believe in the laws of “compensation”; the people that suffer the most have also the strongest creative force.

Now living and working in Shanghai, China.
