Irena Prochazkova

  • My name is Irena Prochazkova, I am Czech. My pictures have been inspired by travel experiences or images. I have been influenced by the art style impressionism. Since 2011 I have been studying the painting under the academic painter Bedriska Uzdilova.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I have been influenced by art styles such as impressionism, post-impressionism and expressionism that have never stopped fascinating me. My favourite painters are Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin or Czech artists such as Špála and Slavíček. My work is full of colours. I feel it this way and I express my mood by that as well.

All my pictures have been inspired by my travel experiences or images and some of them just by my normal life. I do paintings as well as drawings. I create portraits, sceneries, abstractions, compositions and still life-paintings. I currently prefer using oil paint on white and black canvas.


BIOGRAPHY


My name is Irena Prochazkova and I was born in the Czech Republic in 1973 and I currently live in Prague. I have been influenced by the work of the Czech academic painter Bedriska Uzdilova with whom I have been painting for the last nine years.

In the past I was studying with the Czech academic painter Teodor Buzu. I am a member of the Black Canvas International Art Community by painter Alexander Onishenko.

I am represented in the galleries in Czech Republic, Italy and Spain.

I exhibited in New York at Art Expo 2019, London START (2019, 2020), Prague at the Art Prague trade fair (2019, 2020), Vienna, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Slovakia. I am represented by galleries in Prague, Italy and Spain.
