ARTIST STATEMENT

Visual artist with a background as a sculptor and performer. His research is based on the idea of difference, as a starting point of a transformation in the making.Remains of his works, fragments of dreams, unconscious memories of lived events as visions and attractions that flow fluent in the mind and in the body of the artist.At the beginning of these multiplicities are hidden sudden revelations, almost imperceptible, that occur with the flow of time in the form of images and signs.The heterogeneity of labour requires a constant research that is realized in the transfiguration with means of expression always different. Photos, videos and installations, answer to the conceptual dimension of all projects, that stem from reflections on the social context, political and environmental in which we live, rejecting the narrative and didactic approach, preferring the freer expressive form.

Artista visivo con un background da scultore e performer. La sua ricerca è incentrata intorno all’idea di scarto, come punto d’inizio di una trasformazione in divenire.Resti delle proprie opere, frammenti di sogni, memorie inconsce di eventi vissuti come visioni e attrazioni che scorrono fluide nella mente e nel corpo dell’artista.Al principio di queste molteplicità si celano rivelazioni improvvise, quasi impercettibili, che si manifestano con lo scorrere del tempo sotto forma di immagini e segni.L’eterogeneità del lavoro esige una continua ricerca che si concretizza nella trasfigurazione con mezzi espressivi sempre diversi. Fotografie, video e installazioni, rispondono alla dimensione concettuale dei singoli progetti che nascono da riflessioni sul contesto sociale, politico e ambientale in cui viviamo, rifiutando l’approccio narrativo e didascalico, prediligendo la più libera forma espressiva.

BIOGRAPHY

Francesco Cardarelli born in Italy in 1981 Offida (AP), lives and works in Offida.In 2000 he got his diploma in cataloguing and preservation of cultural heritage at the state art histitute “o.Licini” in Ascoli Piceno. In 2005 he goti s university degree in sculpture at fine arts academy in Carrara. During his studies he takes part in many theatre workshop and with visual artist. In the following years he moves to Genova where he mainly works with the couple Suite-Case, together they open the no profit space “SP333” in the Ligurian inland and they organize event on acustic sperimentation together with different local crew. He attend to the Ligustica Academy of fine arts specializing in the didactis of art,work as photographer for thr gallery Pinksummer Contemporary Art,he has collaborated with various artists including Cesare Viel, Emilio Fantin, Zimmerfrei, with the Contemporary Art Museum Villa Crocewhere he exhibited some of his works in 2013 and participates in Genoa Maxster Program.In 2014 he moved to Bologna, completing his study path by attending the Master of Higher Education on the Contemporary Image of Fondazione Fotografia Modena.In recent years he returns to the Marche, in his native country where he lives and works.

Francesco Cardarelli nasce in Italia nel 1981.Nel 2000 ha conseguito il diploma in catalogazione e conservazione dei beni culturali presso l'istituto statale d'arte "o.Licini" di Ascoli Piceno. Nel 2005 consegue il diploma di laurea in Scultura all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, durante gli studi partecipa a diversi workshop con compagnie teatrali e artisti visivi.Negli anni si trasferisce a Genova dove principalmente ha lavorato con il duo artistico Suite-Case con il quale apre lo spazio noprofit SP333 nell’entroterra ligure, realizza eventi sulla sperimentazione sonora con varie realtà culturali del territorio ligure, frequenta l’Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti specializzandosi in didattica dell’arte. per diversi anni lavora come fotografo  per la galleria Pinksummer Contemporary Art, ha collaborato con vari  artisti tra cui Cesare Viel, Emilio Fantin e Zimmerfrei, con il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Villa Croce dove ha esposto alcune sue opere e nel 2013 partecipa al Genova Maxster Program. Nel 2014 si sposta a Bologna, completa il percorso di studio frequentando il Master di alta formazione sull’immagine contemporanea di Fondazione Fotografia Modena. Negli ultimi anni torna nelle Marche, nel suo paese nativo dove vive e lavora.
