- Born in Vienna I studied visual art and performance in the Netherlands, France and Austria. I work with installation, performances and video.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Within the past years my work has evolved from video installations to performative interventions in public space to performances constructed for a stage setting.
Within my work I reflect social and philosophical appearances within society that carry a potential of poetic interpretation. I move those reflections from the known ground of objective reality and fictionalize them until they are transformed to the dreamlike. Images are put into a performative representation in which states of a mental or an emotional kind are described. Despite precise aesthetic stylisation the works are often metaphorically charged and are playing with the medium of exaggeration which sometimes tends to tilt into absurdity.
Thus I am engaged in the space of imagination. In performance installations I construct landscapes of objects,
which set references to an imaginary world and evoke a perception of this one. Through this I try to provoke an abstract world speaking about a concrete one reflecting the relationship between image and narration, subject and object.
