ARTIST STATEMENT

Exploring and shedding light on the physical properties of materials is at the center of my work at all times.

For the past few years, I’ve been particularly interested in creating sculptures from poor industrial untouched material. I manipulated them creating games of suspension and circuits of tension in order to put forward their intrinsic qualities. Each material of the piece has its own role in making the physical properties of another material resonate.

Besides the relationships between the different parts of the sculpture, I bring much care in the shape of the piece. Through my sculpture work, I reach out to the viewer’s body and to make him or her aware of their respective body’s weight, volume and physical qualities as matter. This physical experience of reality brings us to reconsider our own relationship with space and gravity.
