ARTIST STATEMENT

An essential feature of my work is the constant exploration of colour, its behaviour within the support and its expansion away from it. This has led me to develop my work beyond painting, sculpture and drawing limits, trying to establish a hybrid visual language, where three-dimensions and two-dimensions merge. Through grids, schematic forms and the repetition of elements in space, all of which are key to the development of my work, I attempt to capture how I perceive my surroundings.

A process where play and random are determining elements, as if it was a tangram. Each level, along with others, can generate infinite figures, thus creating sequences of colour. The symbiosis between work and exhibit space is another priority of my work, being the space the last integrator of the piece, where it can be fully understood.
