ARTIST STATEMENT

I reflect art as a self-sufficiant system.
Everything originates by the principles of painting. The relation of ground and figure works like the relation of the human and the world. Layers of paint are forming tissues that are forming figures, that are forming a body of work.

There is no innovation in art. Wittgenstein is a pokemon. Kant is as important as Longcat. Dürers form of the trunctated rhombohedron can be brought together with De Chiricos Disquieting Muses just by plain colour. Colours and maths coexist in the same mind. Apollon wears the skin of Marsyas like a suit. Humorism still exists in this thinking.

Things can be healed in the picture. Black bile can be white. Ikea is melancholy. Seemingly unattached topics are forced together to generate something new. Productive misunderstandings generate beauty.

Painting is like wrestling. Showfights, outfits, faces and heels. Double teams use folded chairs. Bodies suffer. Reflecting the cliché of the painter as a suffering existence. The old fashioned techniques are areas of play. Like in logic thinking, the antilogic thinking also has it`s biggest innovations through restriction.

Painting and sculpture are old-fashioned, therefore they are a playground for Innovation. Using art history as a working material, I portrait contemporary paradigms in front of classical backdrops to show their permanent presence.

Insufficience meets hybris. Worth is given by words.
Worth is given by letters. Ratings are magic.
