    Meeting the Irregular | 2018 - 2019

Meeting the Irregular was realized during an artist-in-residence program in Amsterdam in 2018. From the beginning of the residency I have been interested in the state of inconsistency that the situation carries itself. Distance and the change of perspective naturally generate an alienation from the habitual, therefore strings become loose after awhile. When irregularity becomes the main drive of the daily routine, it affects the perception of reality, where time becomes a shape of a balloon looping around, as dangerously as the notorious cycle of an endless rat race. Days are blurring together, and there is no need of a watch anymore. By imitating this scenario my aim is to re-create a certain harmony in the state of mind, collecting visual traces for levitating conjunctions complemented by fragility and heavily constructed surfaces. The self-generated arbitrary system created in the sake of sanity appears through the compositions while a narrative has been associated. Re-cognition and disintegration, reconstruction and discipline are in the focus of the works. The stations of transitions created by these experiences and the artworks realized by them are the pieces of a flowchart, that are meant to help conditioning the identity.
