    Seas of fire | 2016 - 2018

“I am drowning, my dear, in seas of fire” Virginia Woolfe This sentence of the feminist Virginia Wolfe is the metaphor for a creative project and works also as a red line in the different included works, to show the different aspects women suffered and still suffers, drowning in lives where they are oppressed and excluded by society, family or even politics of really being themselves, not able to have whishes, make dreams come true or reach goals in order to led fulfilled existence the same as men. So women although they are in society they are not allowed to play an active role in it. The aim of this still growing artistic project is to create awareness on this unfair situation. Therefore it uses old photos found of women found in flea markets and antiquarians of Paris, London, Berlin, Basel, Dresden, Meißen, Krakow, Helsinki or Tallin together with elements associated traditionally with the feminine world. It deals on one hand with the roles and tasks women were forced to assume and on other it shows the hidden dreams, the suffering and frustration of not being considered a complete human being always being in thrall of male. So the rescue of these images aims to be a reflection on the situation of the woman and but at the same time also a homage to all the feminine predecessors, trying to give them back a certain dignity and a visibility through a work of art. Finally it hopes for a deserved equality of rights for women, a fulfilled life and an active role in all social aspects.
