  • I began this immersive sculpture by attempting to cut a perfect rectangle on two axes from a 6”x6”x72” piece of wood. Then, I traced one axis of that initial form onto a second 6″x6″ and carefully attempted to cut a copy.

    Replication | 1999 - 2003

I began each sculpture in this series by attempting to cut a perfect rectangle from a piece of wood. Then, I traced that initial form onto a second blank of wood and carefully attempted to cut a copy. The copy was then traced on a third wood blank, and I again attempted to cut a copy. The process was repeated with each successive piece of wood.
