    The Case for a Rookie | 2011

The presented outcome of the project is a recording of a long-term process based on transforming a movie script into an object. In my photos I am presenting a movie as an artifact in a different state. The object was created by rewriting the script of the film “Case for a Rookie Hangman“ (director Pavel Juráček, 1969) using a mechanical typewriter and standard A4 paper. The movie can be classified as a surrealist or absurdist drama. In the center of each paper, I wrote the highest possible number of words that could fit in one line. I did not split the words that reached the edge of the paper as I was trying to be as precise and accurate as possible. I spent a month on the transcript – working a few hours a day. The gradual layering of individual sheets formed a block of papers.
