Maybe Fish That Fly Don't Need To Worship Light Switches | 2016

Our existence is our definition of ourselves. Striving for its indefinite continuation, and of those we love, comes by default. This panting works its way from a nihilistic desperation to a hopeful alternative, one that is beyond logic. A congregation of creatures is worshipping light switches, a clear stand in for the oppositions we experience and the impossibility of a compromise, it is an on/off, all or nothing scenario. The light switches can also be arbitrary, indicating both the ridiculousness of the act, and perhaps the divinity of all matter. The characters in this congregation carry a multiplicity of concepts. The only figure facing right is the one in the middle, it is gently supporting a thickly painted towel that is hanging down. The fish printed on the towel are floating up and in the opposing direction of the switches, thus escaping the medium they were bound by.
