    The Farmer's Room | 2013

"Ant farm" is a game through which children can have an insight into the life of ants, and into the system of an ant hill. It gives a detailed, cross-section vision of this hidden organism, as if you were observing through a microscope in a biology lab.The exhibiton space shows an abandoned laboratory room of a fictional person whose research field is the investigation of ant colonies. I have reproduced the most common furnitures (table, chair, tv or even a slice of bread left behind) all reflecting the motif of "white noise" (we call this "ant soccer" in hungarian), which prevents the free flow of information. The installation presents a "picture in picture" situation. As the viewer gets an insight into this hidden world, the observation of the viewer itself comes to life, giving him or her an attitude of spying or unveiling. Ant hill is an impenetrable pile of ground for human sight yet, it hides a intricate system and complex order. The "observers" or agents are themselves in an unclear fog from the view of the observed, their presence is unreachable, unimaginable, even mystical .
