Girl Descending Staircase | 2012
This loop, made out of photo images, was in its origin a delegated performance: I asked a female friend of mine, who holds a PHD in Molecular Biology, to descend multiple times a staircase leading to her work- laboratory, until she gets tired. The performance/video is a reference to the works of Marcel Duchamp (Nude descending staircase), and Gerhard Richter (Woman descending staircase), giving my perspective of a foreign female artist who lives in a multicultural environment.
