FAMOUS | 2014
Social media has created a whole new phenomena in popular culture. It has exposed some great talent – On the other side, it has also allowed people of little talent to become famous – for no real reason. It has given access for anyone to create there own fame and expose themselves to the world – whether we like it or not. This series is a documentation of Gabi Grecko. Gabi is a US ‘ celebrity / DJ / Model / fashion Designer, who has re-located to Australia to marry the man of her dreams – A 72 Year old Doctor and Entrepreneur, DR Geoffrey Edelsten. Gabi is a avid Social Media contributor – Managing to make the news almost every day with her often risqué posts. As most of her instagram ‘ selfies ‘ are taken in the apartment they share, I thought it best to photograph the series within the apartment in Melbourne, Australia as a reflection of her social media presence. Gabi was not directed at all though out the shoot – I wanted to keep the documentation as honest and real as possible.
