TUNNEL audio visual installation, Museum of the City of Skopje, Macedonia, 2008 Dimensions: 14m x 6m x 3,5m Materials: constructions of tin and metal, sponge (black and white), colored rope, cloth, ambient music, noises of heart beating of a child in uterus Audio-visual installation which represents the feminine nature, the symbolic fertility, the uterus itself and a new rebirth. The spectator is involved into visual sensations of my handwork (my minimalist black and white constructions and handmade ropes). At the beginning, he is entrapped without his choice in the tunnel and has no other way but to walk through it. Then, he enters into a dark tunnel which is curved and narrows down very slowly until one man can exit. And finally the viewer realizes that he is actually put in a uterus and his only exit is the red gate of a female genital organ. I have chosen the specific characteristics of the working material such as rope and the process of knitting because of it’s correlation to the feminine sensibility and traditional knitting.
