Zugzwang – is a situation in the chess, where making a move causes an immediate deterioration of the position of the player being on the move. In 1923, Aron Nimzowitsch won a game with Friedrich Sämischem, which is defined as the immortal zugzwang game. The assumption of the exhibition is to record the presence of each viewer. No one will see the original work, but only what has been left after a previous recipient. The viewer is forced to take an active part in the process. I do not feel responsible for the final result of the project, I don't have impact on it. The role of the artist is limited only to the arrangement of the situation and space. The installation consists of a neon "ZUGZWANG", hung on the wall, salt and pepper, scattered in the form of a chessboard on the floor in the gallery. Salt and pepper are used in the project, due to a strong traditions in Poland related to showering them on the ground in specific situations. http://www.agapiotrowska.com/zugzwang.html
