    Connection Almost Found | 2021

The first impulse of the beginning of this set was a contradictory feeling and connection between us and our world. On one side we are all online and we have the option through easy clicks to be part of any group or community in the virtual world. We can be anyone and we have the opportunity to change our alter ego again and again. Yet everything there is sitting the same person behind the computer and if he or she wants to change something, it must spend more energy than in the virtual world. We can switch our roles in the virtual world. While our alter ego is more perfect, the rest of our selves are obscured by emptiness. We're not sure who we are, we've lost the basics. Our relationships are more and more superficial and fragile. All our lives we want to connect with someone or something, even though we subconsciously know that our connection is within reach. And when we're close, we'll eventually turn away anyway, because it's too easy for us.
