In this series, I´m using painting as a tool for an almost archeological research of socialist era playground. These were hugely affected by the mass production of socialist urban neighbourhood architecture. The paintings focus mainly on showcasing today´s neglected condition of old playgrounds and the aesthetics of their destruction. I chose the motive of public space, as it is an important part of both private and social memory. The main focus is put on the thorough exploration of paint, structures and the potential of unconventional painting materials, such as rust. All the painting are part of my bachelor research.
