El Hombre Invisible: Richard Čecho & Milan Mazúr

Dôvodom, prečo sme intuitívne siahli po tomto názve je samotná pohnútka umelcov, ostať v tieni. Samozrejme, metaforicky. Keďže názov pôsobí v našich zemepisných šírkach exoticky, môžeme ho prijať, ako odľahčenie, pokus o ironizáciu či možno filmovú atmosféru, ktorá sa do výstavy chtiac nechtiac vnára.

Spoločným výstavným dielom El Hombre Invisible obaja umelci pokračujú v plavbe “vo vodách tajomna”, pre oboch dobre známych. V dielach oboch autorov totiž často nachádzame analyzovanú tému až niekde hlboko, formálna stránka týchto realizácií nás obvykle zaujíma práve pre túto mystičnosť.

V PRIESTORE sa umelci rozhodli pracovať miesto-špecificky a vytvorili tak dielo ušité priamo pre kontext našej galérie. Ich dielo “prerastá” výstavnú miestnosť a pozýva návštevníka priamo “do seba”. Nevieme s určitosťou povedať, či autormi vytvorená scéna nastavuje situáciu niekam do detskej izby, alebo do skladu spotrebného materiálu, či dokonca do snového “doupě” niektorého z literárnych postáv, vyššie zmienených. Faktom ostáva, že umelci zásadným spôsobom zmenili kontext galérie na akúsi divadelnú scénu, súčasťou ktorej sa stane každý, kto sa poddá hre.

Dielo azda otvára mnohé otázky týkajúce sa pravdy, obsahu skutočností i vecí okolo nás, dotýka sa témy detstva, možno dokonca miestami pôsobí na oboch umelcov autoterapeuticky. Dospeli a hľadajú ten správny obsah ich budúceho počínania? Očakávajú azda od nás, aby sme dospeli? Či naopak chcú, aby sme sa vrátili do čias čírej imaginácie, detskej naivity a našu aktuálnu súčasnosť prežili týmito očami?

Celú pravdu sa nedozvieme, zrejme neexistuje. je to na nás, návštevníkoch, aby sme si dopovedali príbeh. Faktom ostáva zásadná vodiaca linka výstavy a tou je potlačenie ega oboch umelcov, schovaných niekde v pozadí, ktorí publiku ponúkajú v prvom rade nevšedný priestor, vizuálny i pocitový zážitok, ktorý môže napomôcť k úvahám v hlavách nás všetkých, ktorí dielo prežívame. Čecho a Mazúr ostávajú v pozadí a ako dvaja Hombres Invisibles ťahajú fiktívnymi nitkami a niečo nám naznačujú. Každý z nás si môže vybrať vlastný príbeh.

The reason why we intuitively choosed this title is the very motive of artists: stay in the shade. Of course, metaphorically. As the name feels exotic in our latitudes, we can take it as relief, attempted mockery or perhaps a film atmosphere, which is including to the exhibition anyway.

With oint exhibition work El Hombre Invisible both artists proceed sailing “in the waters of mystery”, for both well known. Analyzed topic is often found in the works of both authors somewhere deep, the formal side of these implementations usually interests just because the mystique.

In PRIESTOR, the artists decided to work site-specific to create a work more tailored directly to our gallery context. Their work “outgrows” the exhibition hall and invites visitor directly “to each other”. We can not say with certainty whether the authors created stage sets situation somewhere in the nursery, or to the supplies store or even to dream “lair” of one of the literary figures mentioned above. The fact is that artists fundamentally changed the context of the gallery on a kind of theatrical scenery, part of which happens to anyone who gives in the game.
Perhaps work opens many questions regarding the truth content of the facts and the things around us, touches on themes of childhood, perhaps even slightly it applied to both artists autotherapeutically. Adults and looking for the right content of their next actions? Perhaps they are expecting from us to come to the times of sheer imagination, child naivety and our current present live through these eyes?

We will never know the whole truth, obviously it doesn’t exist. It’s up to us visitors, to finish the story. The fact is fundamental guiding line in exhibitions and that is the suppression of ego of both artists, hidden somewhere in the background, who offered the audience in the first place extraordinary space, visual and emotional experience that can help to think in minds of all of us, who experienced the woek. Čecho and Mazúr remain in the background as two Hombres Invisibles pull the fictitious strings and suggesting something. Each of us can choose his own story.
