MALA SCENA STU, BRATISLAVA (SK)
This exhibition presents series Minimalist and London scene. The selection includes also a few images from the Calligraffiti series and 4 gold watercolour paintings.
This exhibition was created also thanks to a London based illustration agent, who pushed me into developing the minimalist style images. These illustrations had to resonate with the audience - publishing houses of magazines and newspapers and advertising clients. Therefore I have chosen themes that depict people in different familiar situations and environments such as living room, kids room, gallery, sports stadium and so on. Social themes are usually featured in international magazines where my work appear. This series has uniform stylisation of characters and spaces.
The name of the series Calligraffiti and of this drawing style is based on a term that comes from Dutch artist Niels Shoe Meulman. According to the official definition calligraffiti is a connection of calligraphy, typography and graffiti. My version changes typography for characters, drawing style is calligraphic and the aesthetics reminds style of street art graphics.
London scene series represents atmosphere of London through specific architectural elements and characters. I am mostly interested in middle-class and higher-class. In London there is a possibility to find two opposed aspects: diversity that is in my pictures depicted through various shapes and uniformity that is characterised by colour palette.
