This multimedia exhibition which connects and compares the politics of Central and Eastern Europe and South Africa since their democratic transitions.

Mariia Gonchar presented 3-channel media installation Crimean Sonnets (Sonety krymskie). Adam Mickiewicz. / 5 sonnets from cycle Sonety krymskie, 18 Polish sonnets by Adam Mickiewicz, “Becalmed”, “Alushta by Night”, “The Pass Across the Abyss in the Tschufut-Kale”, “Mountain Kikineiz”, “The Ruins of Balaklava”.

HD-Video materials were made during Mariia Gonchar's art residence in WRO Art Center, Wroclaw, Poland; Scholarship Program of Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland “Gaude Polonia 2014.″

Crimean Sonnets (Sonety krymskie). Adam Mickiewicz. / 5 sonnets from cycle

Sonety krymskie, 18 Polish sonnets by Adam Mickiewicz, “Becalmed”, “Alushta by Night”, “The Pass Across the Abyss in the Tschufut-Kale”, “Mountain Kikineiz”, “The Ruins of Balaklava” are presented in form of Polish and Russian text animation.

Video recorded the process of staging reading and scenography: 5 mentioned Polish animated sonnets are read by Michal Stenzel, looking meanwhile YOUTUBE channel VICE NEWS, Russia's Little Green Men Enter Ukraine: Russian Roulette in Ukraine (Dispatch 1) and Tatar Nation: The Other Crimea. VICE NEWS reflects the events in Crimea in 2014, Mickiewicz's sonnets are poetic perception of Crimea, "east in miniature" by Adam Mickiewicz in 1826.

Michal Stenzel has on himself a special recording (registering) equipment, which is particularly marks 20-21 centuries and interaction between government and citizens of the state.
