NEVAN CONTEMPO, PRAGUE (CZ)
The exhibition Material Matters evolves freely from the cooperation between Takáč and Rossí on the one-day exhibition That Which Remained (Berlínskej model, 2016) during which the basic means of expression of both artists – light projections and wall paintings – were intertwined, thus initiating a framework for the deeper analysis of these expressive resources.
Material Matters is a way of looking at reality. Whether this be subjective or objective reality, the two artists contemplate the material of matter as an analogy to the degree to which reality is experienced, felt, its truthfulness. They investigate material as one of the parameters of the object that we look at but also analyse, using an inverted logic: the subject by means of which this material is scrutinised. It is a path to the truth of reality as viewed, a reality all the more truthful the more we can distinguish its details.
